This is not an easy hike but sooo worth it once you get there.

An hour away, a forest service fire tower on a ridge with 360 view. The Allegheny and Appalachian Trails cross here. Serious hawk counts are taken here. 0.8 miles each way, trail is steep initially.

This is an amazing place to see the beautiful landscapes of Monroe and surrounding counties and into Virginia! During the migratory season, hawks and bald eagles can be seen along with the beautiful views. About a mile hike to the top of Peter’s Mountain.
