If you have a car, a trip to Bergen aan zee for a beach day might be very much worth it. Bergen is a cute town. Lots of little boutiques and restaurants. Only a 40 minute drive.

Unfortunately the bus line from Station Alkmaar doesn't offer a good connection, as it will take 56 minutes by bus. But if you take the bike you will reach this place in 30 min, and the bicycle route is definitely worthwhile!
