Great small traditional but with a lot of visitors village!! You can have a walk at the small alleys at night and sit on one of the restaurants or small bars !! Also there you can have traditional galaktompoyreko and great ice cream!! You can also find the old paths around the village and see the byzantine churches ;)

Halki village, the former capital of Naxos island, located in the island's centre, in the central area of the fertile valley of Tragea. It is at a distance of only 16 km Naxos Town and its unique architecture reveals its glorious past. Visiting the picturesque village of Halki is essential during your holidays at the island. Two-storey houses with neoclassical architecture, small paved alleys, bougainvillea and jasmine trees, olive groves and fine shops are only a few of the things to expect in this village. It is no wonder why it has become such a trend among travel bloggers and photographers! After your stroll around the village, you should pay a visit to the Dolce Vita cafe, where the most delicious patisserie of the island is served. Lastly, let’s not forget to pay a visit to the Vallindras Distillery, to see how the local liquor “Kitron” is being produced.

Naxos is famous for its local products and good food. The island has many villages with traditional elements and taverns with local recipes and pure raw materials. I personally like Chalki (also known as Tragaia) where you will see the "Citron Valindra" distillery, you will taste delicious grilled at "Yannis" tavern, "Mitos" for pizza, “Cafe Greco” for coffee and ”Dolce Vita” for homemade sweets

In this village of Naxos you will lose the sense of time! | XALKI The old commercial capital and administrative center of the island, just 17km from Chora, in the Tragai basin, is a surprise in exploring the Naxos inland.
