I'm a big fan of Portuguese Food and in my opinion, the best peri peri chicken is made by Toni's. It's a very unpretentious and quiet affordable place, but has been around for decades, which is Cape Town is a rarity! The service may not be super quick but the food is hearty and, I believe, worth the wait. You'll find everything from that chicken to Mozambican curries and traditional stews on the menu here.

Mozambican Portuguese restaurant that serves good value food. Their peri peri sauce is great and if you ask nicely, they'll give you a bottle to go.

GO HERE. Get the peri-peri chicken and be brave and try the sardines starter. :-)
