Dyfi Osprey Project Machynlleth has been featured on Spring Watch. They have observatories to watch the nesting Ospreys but there are lots of other birds to see there. The reserve is about an hours drive from Welshpool.

Excellent Observatory to see the ospreys and their nests (April to Sept.). Lots of other wildlife to see too - including water buffalo in the summer. Disabled friendly with board walks. We think this is the best Osprey Project in the country! Even if you are not into massive fish eating "eagles" that migrate here each year from Africa, the 360 Observation Tower provides some great views across the meandering river Dyfi and it's marshes.
