National bestseller Dalene Mathee's classic books 'The Circles in the Forest' and 'Fiela's Child' where written about the animals and the people that lived near the forest in the Garden Route. The memorial stands aptly next to The Big Tree, which is a Yellowwood tree of over 880 years old .
