4-mile moderate, scenic, loop hike. Follow Volunteer Trail a half mile through the woods and pick up at the Day Loop Trail, which skirts the shoreline of Percy Priest Lake. Circle around to a high bluff and enjoy stunning lake views before reaching a quiet cove that was once settled. Ramble over a hill filled with tall oaks, then backtrack a half mile to finish the hike.
