The main walk to the top of the Paps affords beautiful 360 views of Mansfield, Mt Buller and the high country, Lake Eildon and the Strathbogie Ranges. This is a challenging walk! Dogs allowed off leash

Walk to the top of the Paps and you'll be greeted with expansive views of the rolling High Country hills and Lake Eildon. From Mansfield drive 9km toward Melbourne, where you will see a sign stating "The Paps, 700m". The gravel road on the left permits access to the Paps. Open the farm gate and close it behind you. After a few hundred metres there is a second gate - open and close this one too. From here you can head upwards on foot or by 4WD.

Fantastic views when you get to the top. You have to enter through private property but it is a telecom road so public access is allowed. It is about a 3 hour return easy grade walk and I often take a picnic to have at the top.

The steep walk to the top is worth the effort, 360deg panoramic views. Take a picnic hamper and watch the sunrise/sunset.
