A scenic, two hour drive, east over the Bighorn mountains to I-90 N, will bring you to where, on June 25, 1876, Gen (Bev.) George A. Custer was defeated by members of the Plains Indian tribes. Small museum, bookstore, restrooms, and ample parking. Also a National Cemetery is here. During summer, living history Interpreters give talks and display arms and dress of both sides. Self guided tours with bar coded stops, which will play through your cell phone or newer vehicle radios. If really into history, expect to spend the day. Thesis of battle and cemetery are open year round.
