Young and old can enjoy professional fireworks, which can be seen from Old Orchard Beach on July 4th and every Thursday evening. Three parking lots are located before the beach, which require permit or pay-by-hour parking.

The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge stretches for 50 miles along the coast, preserving marsh and estuary areas that serve as a habitat for migrating birds. Trails make the refuge easily walkable, and you shouldn’t be surprised if a few deer cross your path. Then head to Fortunes Rocks Beach where you can surf, bodyboard, kayak, or climb on the rocks.
