We live in an ex-pub with a large garden, that we are converting to a home. It is an 18th century Cotswold stone building in a small village surrounded by green countryside. Amazingly, though, it is only a 30 minute walk to central Oxford. It is a perfect getaway, offering tranquility and being surrounded by opportunities for walking, jogging, exploring, swimming, tennis and golf - all withing 10 minutes by foot. The spires of Oxford are visible across green fields from the bedroom window.
