Sattvik Evening - Yoga & Philosophy
The afternoon programme will begin with a philosophy class on indian thought and the yogic systems. Followed by a tea break after which the participants will join in an afternoon hatha yoga practice. Later in the evening, after the practice class, we will spend time at and around Tulsi ghat for an evening guided meditation. Finally the evening will conclude with a vegeterian dinner meal.

Sarnath & Varanasi City Guided Tour
This tour is for travelers visiting Varanasi first time and helps them to explore this unique city in few hours. We will visit major universities - Banaras Hindu University (One of the biggest university in the world), Central University for Tibetan Studies (Buddhist University), Sampurnand Sanskrit University (Unique Architecture) and Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth. We will stop at Bharat Mata Mandir - this temple has a huge map of undivided India carved in marble, Tomb of Lal Khan, confluence of Varuna and Ganga rivers at Adi Keshav Ghat. We will stop at Birla Temple (New Kashi Vishwanath Temple) and Tulsi Manas Mandir. We will visit Sarnath - the center of Buddhism. In Sarnath you will see Buddhist Temples and a Jain Temple, along with Archaeological Museum. Sarnath is one of the important place for Buddhism followers. You will get beautiful and unique photographic locations in Sarnath. There are dozens of Buddhist temples and excavated remains in Sarnath, we can explore them depending on time. Food Walk With Monu
We'll meet at the famous city center Godowlia crossing opposite the hotel Ganges Grand. We'll start our food walk with the newly opened place called The Tiksho which makes really great Aloo Tikki. Then we will walk towards the Laxmi Chai shop who makes great chai. We'll then walk towards the Ram Bhandar to try Aloo Cutlet. Later we'll visit the one of the oldest sweet shop of Varanasi called Rajbandhu to try Malai Gilori. Varanasi is well known for this. Our tour ends with the best Paan of Kashi at the end of the famous Vishwanath Gali. They say that if you have not tried Banarasi Paan then you have not visited Varanasi. I'll then drop you to the same spot where we met at the starting point. In case if you are allergic to any food, please feel free to let me know so that I can skip that item from the tour. Ganga Aarti is performed daily in the evening by a group of priests at Dashaswamedh Ghat. Ganga Aarti is the magnificent event during evening in Banaras. It will be a wonderful experience for you, memorable for whole life. This beautiful ritual makes every moment of the evening special and fills with spiritual thoughts. The whole event takes around 45 minutes. Ganga Aarti starts around 6 pm in winter and 7 pm in summer after the sunset. You will witness Evening Ganga Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat. After Ganga Aarti we will visit some temples including Nepali Temple, Amethi Temple, Brihaspati Temple, Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple and the most sacred cremation site -Manikarnika Ghat. At Mankarnika Ghat, you will see cremation process of Hinduism followers. In Hinduism death is considered as a gateway to another life marked by the results of one's karma. It is believed that a dead human's soul attains moksha, i.e.,breaks the cycle of birth and rebirth if cremated here. Other things to note You should wear appropriate comfortable outfit according to the weather. Put on footwear with grip as the Ghats and streets can be wet and slippery. Avoid slippers and sandals.

The Hatha Yoga Class is open to all practitioners, beginners and advanced practitioners alike. The aim of our class is to give you a balanced practice on a physical, mental and subtle (pranic) level. The class is intertwined with talks relating to various topics of history, context and purpose of yogic practices, this is more or less depending on the individual(s) joining the class. We practicea variety of traditional hatha yoga postures and their varations (asana) and basic yogic breathing techniques (pranayama). Dynamic exercises include classic Sun Salutaitons, though we sometimes spice it up with Ashtanga Sun Saluations A and or B. Our hope is that you leave us with a deeper sense of understanding of both the practice & teachings, but mainly yourself, giving you space to appreciate yourself and what surrounds you.

Interactive Sunset Boat Tour
My boat tour is all-inclusive: we visit the opposite shore for the stunning view of the ghats at sunset, with explanations about the city and it's history; then we visit the burning ghats where I describe the Hindu funeral rites from my personal family experience; finally we stop at the Dashashwamedh ghat to view the Aarti puja ceremony. Included is the chance to offer Deep to the Ganga (flower and flame offering), and we finish with chai on the ghats for the opportunity to chat more personally. Other things to note Please make sure that you are able to walk up and down the steep steps of the ghats, and to get onto the row boat without much assistance. It is a small boat with no gangplank. The chai is traditional Indian chai made with sugar and milk.
