San Carlos de La Cabana Fortress hosts an event that every night, just at nine o'clock, invites countless visitors to enjoy a Cuban traditional ceremony.
The nightly 9pm cañonazo ceremony held in La Cabaña fort is a theatrical show during which actors dressed in full 18th-century military regalia reenact the firing of a cannon over Havana harbor – a ritual that used to signify the closing of the city gates.
Tradition of the city, shooting a canon everyday at 9pm, centuries ago was the sign for closing the doors of the city. Today is a very enjoyable scene/performance. From the other side of the bay there is a terrific view of the city
A ceremony that dates from the 18th century and consists of a cannon shot, infallibly performed at 9:00 pm local time from the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, which next to the Tres Reyes del Morro Castle dominates the entrance to the bay from the city and the main port of the Island.
