The library started forming in 1830s and moved to its current location in 1887. The architecture is amazingly beautiful!

You should not miss the Real Gabinete Portugues de Leitura (Royal Portuguese Reading Room). It is an off-the-beaten-path spot. It's a library, whose architecture and interior design are breathtaking, and it gives the feeling `I wish I would live 1.000 years just to have time to read all the books in there`.
