This is an interesting day trip. In 1666, the French erected a Fort and Chapel here as their southernmost fort. July 18th is the extremely fast and flat Isle of La Motte 5K.

Situated on thirty-two acres on the shore of Lake Champlain with gorgeous mountain views, this shrine is wonderful for reflecting. It's also a great picnic spot for the family! The cafe is open Sundays in July and August for a bountiful breakfast.

I'm not catholic, but if I was I'd definitely go here for a church service. outdoors and lake views. nice drive and nice views even if you don't go to a service.
