Authentic Chinese food served by authentically grump waiters. If you like tripe, tendons, pigs ears, huge portions and lots of chillies, this the place for you. They will deliver free to Star of the East if you're feeling really lazy. We have a takeaway menu.
Decent and cheap Chinese restaurant on Bethnal Green Road. Not much to look at and the menu has some quite bizarre options on it, but the food in general is delicious.
Fantastic and cheap Sichuan restaurant in town. Expect great tastes and uninspiring decor.

“Balfron Tower was designed by architect Ernő Goldfinger and is associated with the Brutalist style of 1960's architecture. Goldfinger himself was pleased with the design and moved into flat 130, on the 25th floor, for two months in 1968. He and his wife threw champagne parties to find out what the residents liked and disliked about his design. He applied what he learnt to his design for the similar and more famous Trellick Tower in West London.”

“Situated on one of East London's most picturesque streets , Columbia Road - Choosing Keeping harks back to an era of penmanship and letterheads, of marbled writing suppliers, Japanese mechanical pencils, ornate wrapping paper, elegant notebooks and much more.”

“This is my local Indian restaurant. There is a no alcohol policy but the food is cheap and excellent quality, plus it's about a five minute walk away.”

“Run by the same family for over a century, this much-loved café on Bethnal Green Road is a must for breakfast or lunch – even if just for the cool Art Deco interior. The place is small and always busy, but known for its incredibly friendly, hospitable atmosphere. You’ll leave with a smile on your face and, if you’re lucky, some free bread-and-butter pudding. Mon: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Tue: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Wed: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Thu: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Fri: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Sat: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm”
