Anchor Ln, Lewes BN8 5EA This is another local favourite that's within a 25 minute walk of Orchard Hut along the old Lewes to Uckfield railway line (which closed in the 60's). Its right on the River Ouse, and you can hire boats (£6 per person) and paddle up the river - dreamy! The food, once again, is good honest pub grub (not gastro). It is often extremely busy on a hot day with Brighton day trippers. This pub is often shut in winter and early spring so definitely call ahead to check if they are serving food.

Beautiful pub, set in the heart of Barcombe, you can walk along the river and hire a little boat.

Go boating on the river Ouse and then get a delicious meal and/or drink at this fab pub! Firm favourite with my family!!

If the weather is good and you are staying for a week or so this place is a great place to spend an afternoon and get some lunch. It is a traditional country pub where you can hire boats and row along a very scenic river. Very relaxing. Go mid-week though as at weekends it can get very busy.

This is actually a pub, but I've put it in parks and nature as you can rent rowing boats there and it's really picturesque. There's a foot path along the rive too. It's in Barcombe, near Lewes. The food is great at the pub.
