Hike to the Top! Guadalupe Peak is the highest peak in Texas. It’s only a one hour drive to the park headquarters and provides lots of fun in the sun for people of all ages and skill level. There are lots of historical sites and hikes for people of all abilities. Pack your own lunch and snacks! There is no restaurant!

Take a hike through Guadalupe National Park: An hour and a half drive east is one of the nation’s most underrated National Parks and home to the highest point in Texas. For an adventure, set out early and try to reach the peak or for a slightly lower-key hike, head out to Devil’s Hall. (Alternatively head to White Sands National Park or take a weekend trip down to Big Bend)
