Boulders beach is a quaint, sheltered beach with fascinating rock formations all around. It also serves as an entry point for the penguin colony. If you're going there on a weekend, be sure to get there early to find a good spot.
Visit boulders beach to see the penguin colony up close...no touching allowed.
My favorite beach, R40 to get in, its secluded, sheltered from the waves and has boulders all over to climb. There is also a penguin nature reserve next to it that is worth seeing.
Must Do place: Swim with the penguins. Best time is when the water has low tide.
Beautiful beach with penguins galore! Swimming is terrific and very scenic.
Soak in the warm water at this lovely beach! Watch penguins diving around the rocks and catching waves .Can be crowded in season
A historic little beach known for its famous residents, the African penguins. A lovely spot to relax or have a swim while surrounded by the penguins.
Delicious food with beautiful views. Lovely for sundowners . Wonderful beach for swimming! Can be crowded in season
MEET THE PENGUINS AT BOULDERS BEACH The beautiful Boulders Beach is one of Cape Town’s most visited beaches and the only place in the world where you get close to African Penguins.
To get a sense of the peninsula within which Cape Town resides, a visit to the southern peninsula is a must, with a stop off at the charming Boulders Beach where you can frolic with penguins in the relaxing waters of the Indian ocean.
A must! Take a picnic basket and cossy, and sit on the beach for a couple hours taking it all in.
I prefer to go to the beach rather than the visitor centre so you drive past the first sign and take the road to Boulders Beach by the golf course. There is still an entrance fee but it is a great beach to swim and enjoy - try and time it for low tide as there isn't much space on the sand at high…
There is the penguin sanctuary where you can view the colony. Or swim in a nearby beach away from the tourists and you might get lucky and have a few swimming with you.
