“This is one of the prettiest beaches on the Kona Side, but kind of hidden. Take the Hapuna Beach exit off the highway, but turn left before you get to the parking lot for Hapuna. Follow single lane road for about 1/2 mile. This beach is shady, has a couple picnic tables, white sand, and gorgeous water. LESS crowds than Hapuna beach and no entrance fee. Has outdoor shower and clean restrooms. Hapuna is over hyped, NO SHADE, and so crowded.....Plus they make you pay $5 to park there. Skip Hapuna and try Waialea Bay (also known as 69 Beach). Great snorkeling too!”

“This is a lovely little church and worth a 10 minute detour to go and see it. Beautiful murals painted on the inside of the walls. Be sure to leave a donation as it helps keep the church open for visitors.”
