IKEA Batu Kawan (GPS: 5.23387, 100.43993) is the fourth IKEA store in Malaysia. It is located next to the Bandar Cassia Interchange, and is owned by Aspen-Ikano, a joint venture company between Ikano Pte Ltd, the franchisee for IKEA in Malaysia, with local developer Aspen Vision Land Sdn Bhd. The store opened to business on 14 March, 2019. It occupies 30 acres out of a 245-acre plot at Batu Kawan, near the toll plaza of the Second Penang Bridge. Aspen-Ikano purchased the land from the Penang Development Corporation for RM484 million. The rest of the land is being developed by Aspen Group in phases, and is known as Aspen Vision City or AVC. The second phase of the development will see a new shopping mall similar to Ikano Power Centre occupying 45 acres, with other developments planned out in future phases occupying 170 acres.
