Frederiksberg Gardens: At the main entrance, visitors are officially received by Frederik VI, a former king much beloved by his people, so one is fully aware of entering his garden. From a certain spot in the gardens you can see the elephants in the Zoo.
This is Copenhagen’s most romantic park, with lakes, woodlands and lovely picnic lawns. Guarding the main entrance is 19th-century royal Frederik VI, who would thrill his loyal subjects by taking boat rides along Frederiksberg Have's canals. The park's imposing baroque palace, Frederiksborg Slot,…

Beautiful historical garden, built by Danish kings and queens over several centuries. Enjoy the beautiful garden, sail in the landscaped canals, or go ice skating in the winter.
Very nice large park/garden with small lakes, a chance to spot the elephants in the zoo nearby and for a walk or picnic.

“To the west of Copenhagen, a little more than three kilometers from the city center, lies the Zoological Garden (Zoologisk Have), founded in 1859 and one of the oldest and largest zoos in Europe. The enclosures imitate the animals' natural surroundings as closely as possible. Here, you can watch polar bears, seals, lions, and other animals being fed. At the entrance, there's an observation tower. Favorite exhibits are the bird lake with storks and pelicans, reptile house, monkey house, and lion's den among others. Of particular interest is the Norman-Foster-designed elephant enclosure. ”

“This is basically just a park, but one to visit. Underneath the park is the catacombs that used to be used as the water supply for Copenhagen many years ago (you can visit, but its cold downthere). Nowadays Søndermarken is a park with tall grass, lots of buzzing bees and the best science festival in Copenhagen, called Bloom (only three days a year). Its directly opposit Copenhagen Zoo. ”

“Copenhagen’s Hippie “Free Town”- a community that has its own rules and regulations completely independent of the Danish government. Christiania has been famous for many years thanks to the permanent stalls along Pusher Street—or ‘The Green Light District’, as it was once known—that sold all types of cannabis (illegal elsewhere in Denmark)”

“Most visitors know about the main shopping street Strøget in the city center, which is definitely worth a visit. But if you wish to avoid the crowds or if the weather is not for a lot of walking outside, then I recommend doing your obligatory holiday shopping in Frederiksberg Mall. The mall has won several design awards and has all the best Nordic Design shops, be it clothing or interior design and their large selection of stores caters to all price levels and needs.”
