If you like bookstores, this is an absolute must-do. The staff is highly knowledgeable and very engaged in the literary scene, both locally and nationally. And now recently, the son of the long-time owners of the shop has stepped up to take the reins for the future - a great step for Durango. So, if you like nationally acclaimed bookstores like Tattered Cover (Denver) or Powells (Portland) or Back of Beyond (Moab,) give Maria's a try - we are confident you will not be disappointed!!

The best bookstore in the US!!!! I am not kidding! Love the old wood floors, the friendly staff, and wonderful art on the walls.
