Best place in area to see giant redwoods. Best state park in California. Lots of wonderful hikes
Redwood Park with fantastic trails, dogs are allowed on some trails with a leash.
First State Park in Ca. Trail from Big Basin to Pacific Ocean, with waterfalls, 3000 year old redwoods because started by group that saved the original redwoods, hiking , camping
Absolutely stunning, you truly feel like a dwarf standing next to these beautiful trees, well worth the drive deep into the forest. The road to Big Basin is a little rough, lots and lots of switch-backs and eventually a one lane road. If you gat car sick, bring dramamine and a bucket.
It's a beautiful park for camping, picnicking. It's a windy road to get there but if you can handle the road (which is also beautiful), the destination is well worth it!
This is a great place to see soaring redwood trees. You can hike, just drive through, grab a snack or go to the visitor's center.
This park with the largest trees in the world that are over 2,000 years old is absolutely mind blowing and my favorite place in the Bay Area. Plenty of trails ranging from easy to difficult. About 45 minute drive from Sunnyvale.
