Built in 1992 to celebrate the 25th year of the current sultan's reign, Brunei's largest mosque and its four terrazzo-tiled minarets dominate their surroundings.

It is one of the two national mosques, the other being Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. Construction works began in 1988 on a 20-acre site in Kiarong and the mosque was inaugurated on 14 July 1994 with the Sultan attending the Maghrib and Isha prayers in conjunction with His Majesty's 48th birthday…
