Kneading Ruby is a hidden gem. It offers a superb menu and attentive staff. The atmosphere is wonderful under high ceilings and a glam industrial decor. It’s all about sharing food here. Warm. Vibrant.

Wollongong CBD has come alive in the last few years with lots of small bars, cafes and restaurants. They are all within a 10-15 minute walking radius. Other options... Kneading Ruby (5 Crown Lane) Pizza plus shared plates + bar (our favourite). Humber (226 Crown St) Great rooftop bar, coffee, light meals. Dagwood (19 Market St) Small Bar. The Throsby (88 Kembla St). Small Bar, cheeses, light meals. Lorenzos (119 Keira St). Good Italian food, a bit noisy, separate cocktail bar. Caveaux (122 Keira St). Hatted restaurant. French-inspired. The Little Prince is one of a number of bars/cafes in Globe Lane and well worth a look. 3 Chimneys (rear 65 Crown St) old warehouse now hip bar.

You can just walk across the road to this and bring home takeaway! Dine in gets busy so you’ll need to book. Italian pizza vegan
