A "choose your own adventure" hiking and long-range view option. Park at the bottom and hike up, or drive up the gravel road to the top (AWD/4WD or higher clearance recommended if driving to the top, especially in inclement weather).

This is a gorgeous area! When you reach the top, you are looking down over all the mountains. You can see Tennessee and Bakersville, NC from here.

Beautiful views without a long hike. You are able to drive close to the trail head on a gravel road. This is a popular place for pictures.

This is our favorite local hike and view. About a 30 minute drive from JC....you can drive right up to the top and take in 360 degrees of Blue Ridge Mountains....or you can park and hike up (about an hour hike) on the Appalachian Trail. Great picnic spot at the top!
