Take a trip on the Volk’s Electric Railway, which runs along the Kemptown section of Brighton’s beaches. Our nearest station is Halfway Station.
Ride along Brighton's Seafront on our 135-year-old electric railway, the oldest electric railway in the world still operating. No need to book - just turn up and ride!
Also know as VERA. Opened in 1883, inventor Magnus Volk's Electric Railway is the 'world's oldest operating electric railway. It's a fun way to get to or from the Pier to Kemptown and you jump onboard from pretty much the bottom of the road.
The Volks Railway is definitely worth a visit (I think you can still ride this from the Pier to the marina). Great drive along the promenade / beaches - great activity for kids and adults alike!
