Cable Cafe

This French-style cafe by Kennington Oval is open all day, but Tuesday nights you can see musicians playing anything from New Orleans swing and jazz fusion to Afrobeat to soul. The nights are promoted by Good Evening Arts, who stage shows across the southeast. Worth checking out if you’re staying south of the river. Sit at the bar. The staff is an awesome, international bunch—Aussie, French, Italian, Czech—and will never forget you once you’ve made friends. They’ll tell you what good shows and parties are on that week.
