With thousands of brands sorted by region, the shop has lots of choices from all of the prefectures that produce shochu and awamori, Okinawa’s even stronger rice spirit. There’s always at least one certified shochu expert on hand. You won’t pay much here—rarely over ¥1,500 for a decent 720 mL bottle. The shop often pours free samples of whichever brands they’re pushing that week, so make sure to have a few sips before buying something.
