The area is popular for walking, cycling and climbing and the cottage has views of Stanage Edge. The village has a train station, regular bus service, shops pubs, restaurants and a stunning open air swimming pool. Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Castleton are all within easy travelling distance.

North Lees Hall is an Elizabethan tower house set in the gorgeous Peak District Park just below Stanage Edge and close to Hathersage village. Visited by Charlotte Brontë and the inspiration for Jane Eyre. Wonderful walks straight from the doorstep. The Great High Chamber has a luxurious four-poster bed with goose down duvet and pillows; cotton sheets. Reached by an oak spiral staircase. The decked roof above has outdoor furniture and glorious views all round.
