Vlaho Bukovac House

The house of Vlaho Bukovac, a home of a world famous painter born and raised in Cavtat, dates back to the eighteenth century. This beautiful two floor house with a garden is a perfect place for all the cultural and art enthusiasts. The upper floor is consisted of a tinel and Bukovac's atelier, where you can see some of his many works and travel back to the past, as the whole interior and furniture is original from the beginning of 19th century.

One of the sights inside the old town of Cavtat is Franciscan monastery, called Our Lady of the Snows. It dates back to 15th century. Building of the monastery, which lasted throughout 15th century, was funded by Republic of Dubrovnik. On the east side of the cloister there is a church wherein some of the most valuable paintings in Cavtat can be found, like for example, Our Lady of Cavtat, painted by one of the most famous Croatian painters Vlaho Bukovac. Due to its rich history, architecture, and famous artworks, Franciscan monastery was, in 1984, declared a cultural monument

Saint Nicholas Church

Church of Saint Nicholas was built in the 14th century. This renaissance style building is one of the most interesting tourist sites in Cavtat. Baroque style interior is decorated with a number of valuable artworks; some of it even dates back to 17th century. One of the most important paintings is Saint Nicholas with Virgin Mary overlooking the bay of Cavtat, and the painting of 4 evangelists that was painted by Vlaho Bukovac.
