Best to have a car to get to places outside the village
While Panzano can be reached by bus several times a day from Florence, it is best to have a car to do local shopping and experience the restaurants not inside the village.

Sunday market
Every sunday morning we have a thriving market in the square. From 8am to 1pm there are fruit & veg, really good roasted chicken, a cheesemonger and lots of clothes and leather goods stalls. Every first sunday of the month there is a brick & brack market added to it with furniture, antiques, homemade stuff, local farmers market etc

Very popular meat place - book ahead on his website for the famous steak menu. Also really interesting to try is the "solo ciccia" menu (everything from the cow except the steak.)

Village life is very set-back and relaxed and there is no strict dress code even in the nice restaurants. Dont walk around in bathing suits though outside on the streets. To explore more of the countryside bring some good walking shoes and comfy clothes.

Watch out for the opening and closing times of stores!
Italians have specific times to open and close their shops. As our region supports "Slow City", we recommend making reservations at the restaurants you want to visit, and paying attention to the hours of stores, pharmacies and supermarkets. Here in Panzano, for example, you will hardly find something to eat between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, much less after 10:00 pm.
