Food Scene

A definite fun family favourite. A lovely walk from the centre of Salcombe, simply walk along the coastal road and keep the estuary on your left and your find the fun yellow wooden building tucked behind North Sands Beach. From all you can eat breakfasts, Seafood menu, BBQ in the evenings, children's dishes and old fashioned ice cream van, plus lots of outdoor seating by the beach. Rock n’ Roll music and there’s even a dressing up box…

The Crab Shed is the closest restaurant to The Treehouse Salcombe, just a beautiful short 15-minute walk alongside Batson Creek. The restaurant is perched on the water’s edge close to their very own Crab Factory, where all the crab meat, fish and shellfish is hand-picked; straight from the fishing boats that operate from The Fish Quay.

Our personal favourite, with a shabby sheek feel in the Beach Hut style Restaurant, its got a relaxed atmosphere with its beach-style décor; driftwood panels, fishing nets in the rafters and hanging bulbs. Excellent no matter what time of day; Breakfast, Lunch or Supper. I’ve recommended this brilliant restaurant with the most delicious fresh fish seafood dishes to lots of guests and no ones been disappointed. The view is outstanding and it’s a perfect place to have a long walk on the beach, either before or after supper. MUST BOOK, gets very booked up in peak periods.

They are a tiny pub with a huge heart, a reputation for wholesome food where they take localness to the limits. They’re nothing fancy and reassuringly pubby, but without a doubt their English pub food collides with French auberge cuisine. During July and August on the terrace they do great BBQ Paella or burgers on the terrace. It’s a great trip on the water if you also fancy hiring a boat.

The Bar & Grill is the perfect place to chill and just a lovely 15-minute walk from The Treehouse. There are comfy outdoor sofas on the terrace overlooking the waters edge, and their cocktail concoctions are delicious. There is always an electric atmosphere in the evening, especially as most Saturday nights throughout the year there is a live band and lots of dancing.
