The main town of Erice is located on top of Mount Erice, at around 750 metres (2,460 ft) above sea level, overlooking the city of Trapani, the low western coast towards Marsala, the dramatic Punta del Saraceno and Capo San Vito to the north-east, and the Aegadian Islands on Sicily's north-western coast. Casa Santa forms part of Erice at the base of Mount Erice, immediately adjacent to Trapani. A cable car joins the upper and lower parts of Erice.

This huge expanse of awe-inspiring landscape artwork was created by Alberto Burri between 1984 and 1989. Burri covered the ruins of the town of Gibellina, which was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1968, with a smooth and undulating cover of concrete where deep path-sized grooves preserve the original street plan of the town. The site has been recently reopened after renovation. There is nothing in the world like it. It worth a visit!

The apartment is less than 3 km from the core of Trapani city center. You can easily get there following the promenade along the beach just in front of Bite - Bike& Kite Accommodations. There are 3 ways you can reach the city center if you don't have a car: 1. walking by the beach; 2. by bicycle (8 m) there is a cycle lane just in front of the gate that takes you directly to the city center; 3. By bus…there is a bus stop in front of the gate with 2 bus lines (21 & 23), with which you can easily reach Trapani historical centre, the port and the cable way to Erice.
Interesting, amusing and enlightening adventure for a family afternoon. The staff is great and the interactive tour captures your interest and imagination.
