The Cellar is a local restaurant with delicious food. They have everything from sandwiches to pizza to calzones and salads. They own a beer store next door if that's your thing. And my favorite part is their downstairs area! The Cellar has a bar with a really cool atmosphere in their basement. There is also live music on Monday nights.

Parks & Nature
The Cascades is a beautiful waterfall in the area. The hike is fairly easy, about two miles one way. You can pack a lunch to eat at the falls (I recommend the upper falls for that), you can go swimming if you like icy water, and you can even relax along the trail if you bring a hammock. Parking is a few dollars--bring lower bills of cash.

McAfee's Knob is a beautiful hike with almost a 360 view at the top. It is a longer hike and the end is quite steep. However, the view is awesome and you can reward yourself with a big meal of Southern comfort food at The Homeplace afterwards.

Appalachian National Scenic TrailMcAfee's Knob is a beautiful hike with almost a 360 view at the top. It is a longer hike and the end is quite steep. However, the view is awesome and you can reward yourself with a big meal of Southern comfort food at The Homeplace afterwards.
Pandapas Pond is a great place to see wildlife and a quiet spot to getaway. There is a flat gravel trail that walks around the pond. There are also hiking and biking trails that go through the woods in the park.

Kroger is about seven minutes from our house. It's very easy to get to and has all the essentials. There is also a Kroger gas station there too!

This restaurant is local and just a few minutes from our house. If you're in the mood to try something new, I'd go here. It's affordable, delicious, and filling. They have all kinds of curry, even vegetarian.

We love The Homeplace! It's a bit of a drive, but the views are beautiful! And you cannot beat the food! Here you'll enjoy fresh, home-cooked Southern food. And the best part--it's all you can eat, so come with an empty stomach! It's a little pricey, but so worth it. It's a popular spot so it's possible you will have to wait to be seated as seating is limited in the old farmhouse it's in. The best time to go is after you've hiked McAfee's Knob which is just across the street.

And the best part--it's all you can eat, so come with an empty stomach! It's a little pricey, but so worth it. It's a popular spot so it's possible you will have to wait to be seated as seating is limited in the old farmhouse it's in. The best time to go is after you've hiked McAfee's Knob which is just across the street.

Frank's has everything you could possibly want...movie theater, bowling, food, arcade. It's a fun building with lots to look at. It is close to lots of small shops and restaurants too. Tightwad Tuesdays include half price movie tickets and all you can bowl for $10.

The Starlite Drive-In is such a fun experience! You get to watch a movie outside on a big screen just like in the old days. There are concessions and the movies are very affordable. You can also being your own snacks. You'll want to get there early for a good viewing spot and while you wait for the movie to start you can throw a frisbee or football. The drive-in is definitely one of our favorite activities!
