Just a 10min walk from the apartment, Tramsheds is a great neighbourhood place: has a very pleasant supermarket, bottle shop, GP clinic, Messina ice-cream, and several cafes and restaurants (I'd recommend Garcon and Osaka especially).

A larger shopping centre at the top of Glebe Point Road, about 15-20min walk. Has a great variety of stores, from supermarkets to apparel. Has a food court and a cinema as well.

Blackwattle Ferry into the city
A quick and easy way to get into the city is by ferry. It goes between Blackwattle Bay Wharf stop (3 min walk from the apartment, see the location on google maps), and in 10min gets you to Barangaroo. Note: it doesn't take Opal cards; the fare is $6.80 per person one way.
