The closest M2 Tram stop to your room. On Prenzlauer Allee between the Church and Volkshochschule.
Take the M2 south for 4 stops to get to Alexanderplatz S+U-Bahnhof. Take the M2 north for 4 stops to get to Prenzlauer Allee S-Bahnhof which is on the Ring-Bahn that circles the city. The planetarium is by the S-Bahnhof as well.

Food Scene
Dine on really good Russian food (stuffed blini, juicy pelmeni dumplings) and sip a Calvados while you sit on a balcony overlooking a classy old bar and other diners on a split-level floor. There's a white horse on the front of the restaurant and on either side of the door, there is a hand holding a leash attached to a hare with lamps for balls. It's a surrealist painting in restaurant form.

$$ The steamed milk on their lattes is marshmallowy soft. As well as bagels and sandwiches, you can get Arepas which are these Columbian or Venezuelan corn pancakes. I like mine topped with guacamole and Käse (cheese).

The Toad Burger with a portobello mushroom and blue cheese is a vegetarian's wet dream. The Bulgogi burger is meaty and spicy. Really really excellent fries and there's also a really good pineapple mint shake on the menu.

Sightseeing
Literally "Devil's Mountain", this is a man-made hill made of rubble from a Nazi military technical college (Wehrtechnische Fakultät). During the Cold War, the United States built a spy station on the hill. The ruins of this spy station are painted over regularly by a community of street artists. For 6€, you can walk around the place and get a top-down view of Berlin. Walk up the stairs all the way to the highest sphere where you can enter a magical echo chamber which sometimes hosts ad hoc concerts because the acoustics are so good.

Every Sunday there is a big flea market and street food market. Also, in the summer time, there's karaoke and street performances. I may be understating the karaoke - basically imagine a hundred people singing "My Heart Will Go On" together while vendors walk up and down this massive hill and sell them beer and radlers. There's basketball and petank. People meet their significant others in this park. It's a big deal.
