Incredibly charming nationally renowned garden, made famous by garden designer Chris Beardshaw when he used the formal pond as his inspiration for one of his earlier Chelsea Flower show garden designs. Very important to check opening times, as usually only open on Fridays and Sundays. There is a lovely lunch and tea provided but can get busy, so allow time if you want to eat.

The wonderful Middleport Pottery, home to TV's 'the Great British Throw Down'. It is a wonderful working pottery, cultural heritage site, and centre for artists studios etc.
Very family friendly, lovely cafe serving delicious Staffordshire oatcakes. Charming location on the canal, tucked away in Stoke on Trent. They put on fun activities for children in school half terms and holidays, see their website for details.
In the week you can do factory tours, best to see in the morning.
It has lots of cultural events, and in 2018, hosted the travelling display of WW1 ceramic poppies.
You can throw your own pot.
