This is a beautiful area. It is not far from downtown Chicago and you can take a short train ride there (we usually leave from the College Ave station). Downtown Wheaton is a nice area with some fun shops and tasty food.

Library
This is a great library with a wonderful children's program. It can be a quiet space for meetings and doing work.

Parks
What a wonderful place to be! Weather permitting, this is a great spot for gatherings of family and friends. It has some walking trails, places to play soccer, playgrounds, a baseball diamond, and in the winter it houses an amazing hill for sledding and ice skating (when the ice is thick enough, the park administrators will block it off if the ice is not safe).

This is a forest preserve with nice views and hiking trails. I believe you can also cross country ski here in the winter. They also host fun summer camps for children.

This is an amazing, huge park with an amazing "Children's Garden" for kids of many ages. It has miles of walking and biking trails.

Downtown Chicago is just a quick train ride away. There's lots to and see there, such as The Cloud Gate/The Bean, the Art Institute of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, Lincoln Park, Maggie Daley Park, Chinatown, Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile, Wrigley Field, and so much more! I highly recommend going if you have a chance.
