Santa Luzia beach, Praia do Barril - this beach has fewer facilities, is less busy and has a calmer and quieter sphere, you have to walk on a wooden pathway to the beach or ride the old open train, which is a fun ride with kids. The beach has a couple of restaurants and the beautiful “Anchor cemetery” This strange arrangement of anchors is in fact a kind of memorial to the lost tuna fishing industry that once thrived here. The anchors themselves were used to keep the nets in place as opposed to mooring the boats.

Praia Dona Ana

Often seen as more of a local’s beach, than a tourist beach. It’s a thin strip of beach facing the ocean on one side and facing the Ria Formosa lagoon on the other. Stretching for nearly 9km, Sun beds and parasols are available to hire if you didn’t bring your own. For the more active visitors, there are several surf schools which offer surfing lessons and surfboards for hire. Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are also available and several restaurants.
And if you come real early in the morning just at sunrise, you might catch a dolphin swimming in the lagoon on the right side of the bridge.

You can also walk on the trail path along the hilly landscape around it to explore the magnificent viewpoints, find hidden coves and, especially, see the beauty of Praia da Coelha in all its glory.
There are also some coral reefs, making this beach perfect for snorkelling.
