Romantic French candle-lit restaurant that is a Belgravia institution. The alluring interior, with its intimate nooks and festoons of dried flowers and bric-à-brac has changed little since the 60s and offers an authentic re-creation of “paysan” France. A relatively small menu but a lot of French classics, and, when the sun shines, the option of dining "al fresco". Advanced booking essential.

Don't be put off by the modest decor or tiny Sardinian restaurant - the food is amazing, and fish and pasta is absolutely the best. I recommend burrata with bottarga, tuna tartare and pasta with bottarga and clams.

Delicious Turkish food served by friendly staff in atmospheric surroundings. The décor is beautifully opulent, with black furnishings and plenty of red and gold accents, while the menu is inspired by the food produced in the Sultans’ kitchens from the Ottoman era, but with a distinctly modern feel.

Unique dining experience where you are cooked for and served by the prisoners in training at Brixton Prison. The inmates serve you in the old governor’s house dating back to 1819, located within the prison, and some precautions have been taken, for instance it is alcohol free and plastic cutlery is used. Run as a charity, its research shows an impressive 41% drop in reoffending rates.

Outdoors

My favourite place to watch the sun set, with a supermarket brought bottle of wine. In the summer time, they also have an open air cinema on it, which is a wonderful local hack. The Coaling Jetty, is a small pier located in front of Battersea Power Station. The 110 metre long jetty was constructed between 1929 and 1932 and serviced the Power Station in the loading and unloading of coal until it was decommissioned in 1983. These days is a beautiful space to relax, with nice views of the river and Nine Elms.

The Garden’s location feels special and secret. It is nestled behind walls and positioned close to the River Thames. The ideal Thames location is no accident as back in 1673 the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries chose their Chelsea village site for its proximity to the river to make the most of its warm air currents. It gave them a base to moor their barge, allowing them to conduct plant finding expeditions in surrounding areas and to teach their apprentices to identify plants, those that might cure and those that might kill! The site is also blessed with a south facing aspect and good quality warm light soil, having previously been the site of a market garden. The River access allowed plants arriving from around the world to be introduced to the British Isles via the Garden, allowing the Garden to make a big impact from early on. Its international reputation was established quickly as a result of the global seed exchange scheme, known as Index Seminum, which it initiated in the 1700s and continues to this day.

This little-known London gem is home to Britain's hero veterans, the Chelsea Pensioners. The beautiful grounds are open to the public, so you can go in, take a stroll and explore. Take the chance to learn about the past of Royal Hospital Chelsea at the on-site Museum. Check out the large diorama in the centre of the entrance hall to find out what the Royal Hospital looked like in 1742, and marvel at the 1998 Andrew Festing painting of Queen Elizabeth II.

My favourite of the London Royal Parks, St James's is surrounded by landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Whitehall and is beautifully maintained. A lovely little fact is Pelicans have lived in St James’s Park for nearly 400 years. They were originally presented as a gift from the Russian Ambassador to King Charles II.

Family daytime fun or a fab early evening date. Rent a pedal boat (£12 per person per hour) and potter around the Serpentine. June - August it stays open to 8pm, so stop by a wine shop on route and grab yourself a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy on the ride.

If you enjoy park walks or jogging, head over Chelsea Bridge to Battersea Park. The 200 acre park runs alongside The Thames, facing Chelsea, and is absolutely beautiful. Lots of sights to enjoy within the park, including the Pergola, the Zoo, the boating lake, mini-golf and go-ape. Definitely stop for coffee and cake at Pear Tree Cafe.

It serves as Chelsea's high street and has a reputation for being one of London's most fashionable shopping streets. My recommendation is to begin in Duke of York Square (by Sloane Square) and then able along the Kings Road.

Museums

My favourite museum. The V&A focuses on art and design and has a huge public display (free to visit) as well as fantastic exhibitions (ticketed). The museum houses a permanent collection of over 2.27 million objects and it was founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

When Tate first opened its doors to the public in 1897 it had just one site, displaying a small collection of British artworks. Today we have four major sites and the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day and international modern and contemporary art, which includes nearly 70,000 artworks. About 15 minutes walk from Chelsea Loft Apartment, along the riverside. Free admission although some exhibitions are chargeable.

Pubs

Historic pub in Belgravia with good food and a Sunday roast offering too, legend has it that Grenadier is named after young Cedric, a soldier who was caught cheating at cards and punished by being beaten to death. No one knows exactly when this ghastly deed occurred, but it is thought to have been in September as that is when ghostly happenings are rife. Visitors hang money from the ceiling in an attempt to pay his debt, but poor Cedric seems to remain trapped on earth.
