Caerphilly Castle is a medieval fortification in Caerphilly in South Wales. The castle was constructed by Gilbert de Clare in the 13th century as part of his campaign to maintain control of Glamorgan, and saw extensive fighting between Gilbert, his descendants, and the native Welsh rulers.

Bus or Train?
Your nearest bus stop is just a 3 minute walk across Morrrisons car park. The number 27 runs every 15 mins during the day and is a quiet, clean electric vehicle that will have you right into the heart of the city in 15 minutes. Or catch a train from Ty Glas, just a 4 minute wander away and can either get you into Cardiff Central or stay on one more stop and enjoy the food and sights at Cardiff Bay!
