Food Scene
This is my go to if I am going to be picking up breakfast on the run. It is within walking distance of the apartment and is really convenient and affordable.
It is advertised as a donut shop but their donuts are subpar in my opinion. They make the donuts the night before so they are not fresh when you buy one in the morning. (If you are craving donuts, Stan's Donuts is a trip across town but they are worth it!)
I typically stick with a breakfast sandwich when I order food here but they offer a good variety of breakfast options .
Be warned: IT'S CASH ONLY. There is an ATM there, though.

This is a pretty standard bar you can find downtown. It caters more to college students from SJSU nearby. I usually go here to shoot pool with friends on nights when I prefer a more laid back night out.

A rambling, maze-like residence containing 160 rooms, beautiful craftsmanship, and strange building oddities like doors to nowhere and stairs that dead-end at the ceiling. They offer guided tours pretty frequently. It's an interesting place to kill some time and it is pretty close by.

This is my gas station of choice. It is right around the corner. It has clean bathrooms for a gas station and staff members are always friendly and busy working.

I get most of my essentials at Target. I always get stuck spending more time than I intended roaming around the huge store whenever I go. I am pretty addicted to Target. There are some good ones dispersed throughout San Jose but this one is the closest.
