Platteklip is a challenging hiking trail that will take you right onto Table Mountain. The oldest, easiest and most direct route to the summit and therefore also the most popular, so expect company along the way.
Pack a few snacks and enjoy a picnic once you reach the summit. You will not be disappointed by the views.

Platteklip GorgePlatteklip is a challenging hiking trail that will take you right onto Table Mountain. The oldest, easiest and most direct route to the summit and therefore also the most popular, so expect company along the way.
Pack a few snacks and enjoy a picnic once you reach the summit. You will not be disappointed by the views.
A moderate hike through the shaded, indigenous forest up the Eastern slopes of Table Mountain, and summits at Maclear’s Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain.
The hike starts from the Kirstenbosch Gardens and takes about 5 hours in total. Once you reach the top, enjoy a refreshing dip in the dams.
You can decide to continue to Table Mountain or you can descent back to the Bontanical Gardens.

Skeleton Gorge / Nursery Ravine Hike
Nursery RavineA moderate hike through the shaded, indigenous forest up the Eastern slopes of Table Mountain, and summits at Maclear’s Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain.
