Great for coffee on the beach or a wine or evening drinks. We do no longer recommend 'The Box' for lunch or dinner after our last experiences. But still a nice place to enjoy the views with a drink. Reachable via cycleway along the water or by car.

Fantastic views and great walking beach at low tide. For a brilliant day long sightseeing tour cycle from our place at Woy Woy along the cycleway to Ettalong Beach, tie up the bike and have a morning coffee at 'The Box' on the Water. Then walk along Umina Beach to the end and on the 'old gravel road' ' around the corner to spectacular Pearl Beach.

Pelican Island has the closest pelican breeding colony to Sydney. You can view them from the waterfront cycleway by taking a short 10 minute stroll from our place with binoculars. Alternatively you can circumnavigate the island with a kayak but are not allowed to land on the island. In the springtime you can see the baby pelicans. They are very cute. They are large, fluffy, have short wings and beaks and fall over a lot whilst trying to walk.
