My favorite way to explore Paia is...
Walk Baldwin beach in the morning as the views are incredible. The sun shine hits the West Maui mountians and creats the best colors in the world. Get coffee at Paia coffee, shop at Wings of Hawaii, Biassa rose and Maui hands. Get groceries at Mana foods (cute must see mom and pop store with great prices and the best hot bar ever) or have lunch at Paia fish market.
Also, Flatbread pizza is wonderful. My favorite pizza is 1/2 mopsy pork 1/2 pele pesto. The goat cheese salad is perfect and also pomegranate mojitos are the best.
One more restaurant is Cafe Des Ami. They are only open from 1:00 on but amazing. My favorite are the crapes.

Sightseeing
Gorgeous beach. Lots of sand, views to photograph and best of all reefs to snorkel on a clear day and see LOTS fo sea life. Remember not to turn your back on the ocean. And do not snorkel in the mirky water.

This is a sacred and stunning valley. A very short or long hike can be achieved. You could stay 30 minutes or all day. IAO is not to be missed and it is only 15 min from the condo.

Coral hurts both you and the coral if stepped on
Aloha, Maui is a very soft and very rugged. Please be careful when you are in the ocean. Use the buddy system. Look for rogue waves and never turn your back to the ocean. There are very dangerous surf breaks especially at Big beach in Makenna and also Black rock in Kaanapali. I suggest using caution at both those beaches. Check the tides and currents and if you have any hesitation, do not go out. There are a lot of tourists getting into physical danger because they are unaware of the ocean. It can feel like Disneyland on Maui however there are not lifeguards, seatbelt or bumper boats anywhere.

We use the words Aloha and Mahalo in Maui.
Aloha is a Hawaiian word with many meanings, ranging from love, peace, and compassion to pity and grief. It's commonly used, especially by visitors to Hawaii, to mean "hello" and "goodbye."
You will hear people saying Aloha for hello and goodbye. Try it, it's a beautiful word.
