The Outlook Tea Rooms and Art Gallery attached to the Hope Anchord Hotel. “As soon as you step through the door it's like stepping back in time to the tea rooms of, shall we say, Agatha Christie's Miss Marple. However, there's nothing 'vintage' about the service from the very friendly staff or what is on offer on the menu. There's home-made scones, cakes and sandwiches (with Gluten Free options available). There's also a good choice of speciality teas and coffees to drink (alcoholic and other non-alcoholic drinks are also available). The prices are very reasonable. If you like tea rooms then you should like The Outlook Tea Rooms and Art Gallery”.

The Landgate was built in 1329 on the orders of Edward III to strengthen the town's defences. It is the only one of the original four gates that is still standing. Winchelsea has three of its gates, but all of these point to a different geography and a different time. Both towns are perched high up over flat land that was once much closer to the sea. You can also see part of the old town wall.

Miles of attractive pebble beach up to Camber Sands. Very clean. Partly dog friendly. Be careful of the fast tide if you go out onto the sandy part, easy to get caught out pretty fast.

Fancy a quieter costal walk? - Just along from the well known Camber Sands beach, Broomhill Sands is a much quieter place. As such, it has relatively little in the way of facilities.
