Hastings Pier is great to visit anytime of day. It boast largest beer garden, but also has cafes and amusements.
Wonderful views of both St Leonard’s and Hastings.

Checkout the tides. At low tide you can walk towards Bexhill to Bulverhythe Beach.
The beach is stunning, if you can do this at sunset (tide depending) the light can be breathtaking.
It’s also dog friendly 🐾
If like a reasonable walk, there is a great cafe called Oceanside Cafe (there are public toilets just under the bridge)
Look out for the Amsterdam shipwreck.
