Head up Juniper Lake road from town and discover Lassen Park trails galore. Coffee shops. Restaurants. Gift stores. Hardware stores. Sporting goods stores. Be sure to stop for a frosty at the Pine shack too!

Chester now has a great Farmers Market in the summer on Thursday evenings. At the Chester Park from 4-7. New vendors weekly.

Nights are usually cool in the summer. Be sure to bring a sweatshirt too. Winter can be really cold, pack accordingly!

Bike trails
Lots of great bike trails in the area. Be sure to check out the trail on the west shore that goes over to the Dam. Chester is pretty flat and easy to bike around too. Head up Juniper Lake road for a heart pumping ride.

Caribou area
Head out on 36 towards Susanville. Take a left at the dump...yup! Follow the road up to some sweet lakes and hikes. Mountain bike trails, fishing galore and much to explore. Echo Lake is a must visit.
